The Beautiful Rubin Museum of Art is Worth a Visit

A museum focused on Himalayan Asian Art doesn’t exactly shout out “kid friendly”. But the beautifully immaculate Rubin Museum of Art in Chelsea, Manhattan is worthy of a trip. Through October 4th, you can catch the exhibit, “The Power of Intention: Reinventing the (Prayer) Wheel”, which offers plenty of interactive and high tech elements to excite the youngest guests.

And EVERY Sunday from 1pm to 4pm, the Rubin Museum hosts its Family Sundays program. There are drop in art making crafts at the Education Center and at 2pm, join the family exhibition tour. That entire Sunday program is FREE.

The Rubin Museum is open on Mondays and Thursdays from 11am to 5pm, Wednesdays from 11am to 9pm, Fridays from 11am to 10pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 6pm. Closed Tuesdays. Admission is $19 per adult and children under age 12 are free. The museum is located at 150 West 17th Street.
